ADDISON – A 42-year-old local man has been reported missing by his family.
William Merchant was last seen in Jonesport around July 5. He was reported missing by his family on Wednesday.
“Everybody is worried sick. It’s not like him,” said Lexi Merchant, niece-in-law of the missing man. “His mother is elderly and he doesn’t go too long without getting into contact with at least her.”
He told family members he was giving a man from New York a ride to the bus station and nobody has heard from him since, she said.
Merchant is described as a 5 foot 7 inch tall white man weighing about 150 pounds. He has a tattoo on his left ring finger and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and jeans.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 255-8308.
