Massachusetts woman injured in I-95 crash

Written by

HAMPDEN - While Maine State Police were responding to a call about a Massachusetts vehicle going off Interstate 95 in Carmel, they received a second call about the same vehicle ramming into the back of a tractor trailer just down the road in Hampden.

Mary Jean Goslin, 57, of Massachusetts was apparently speeding when she hit the big rig shortly after noon, and also slammed into the guard rail before coming to a rest in the middle of the highway, Trooper Josh D'Angelo said at the scene.

“According to eye witnesses, the vehicle rolled over several times,” D'Angelo said. “The driver sustained severe head injuries and is being transported to [Northern Light] Eastern Maine Medical Center.”

The trooper said he was able to talk with Goslin shortly before she was taken to the hospital.

The investigation into the cause of the crash that slowed traffic for miles is ongoing, he said.
