HAMPDEN – Hampden’s town manager has resigned. The town council unanimously accepted Jim Chandler’s resignation during their meeting Monday night.
Chandler had held the position for about a year. No reason for the resignation has been given because it is a personnel matter.
Councilors appointed Town Clerk Paula Scott to serve as the interim town manager.
“I don’t see any obstacles. I think we’re going to move forward as we always do. We have a new budget. The staff here is great and we’re going to continue doing what we do,” Scott said.
There is no word yet on when the search will begin for a new town manager.
