TUNK LAKE – A Franklin man is dead after an incident on Tunk Lake Monday morning.
Maine Game Wardens say it happened shortly before 9:00 Monday morning at the public boat launch on Tunk Lake in Township 10, Hancock County.
Authorities say Ronald Thomas, 74, of Franklin was attempting to launch his boat when the bow line broke.
According to Corporal John MacDonald, the 16-foot boat began floating away.
Officials say Thomas died attempting to retrieve it.
First responders and Lifeflight responded to the scene but could not revive Thomas, according to MacDonald.
