FAIRFIELD – Local officials have restarted their grant program to increase small business activity.
After the funds dried up for their grants back in 2011, the Fairfield Town Council brought back the facade program and the marketing assistance program for local businesses.
The program currently is funded through the gas pipeline district in Fairfield.
The entire program is $30,000, $25,000 of which is earmarked for the facade program and $5,000 of which is for the marketing program.
Any business within the town of Fairfield can apply, big or small.
“There are limits where the programs need to start, so a minimum marketing assistance program has to be at least $1,000 and then the facade piece has to be at least $3,000,” Town Manager Flewelling said.
