Newly elected Gouldsboro selectmen to hire new manager

Written by

GOULDSBORO - Who is elected on Tuesday to the town's Board of Selectmen will decide who will replace the town manager, and when.

Town Manager Sherri Cox, who was hired just over a year ago, gave her two months notice in Mid-June.

“After this vote and the board is a full board again, they will decide what step they are going to do next as far as hiring,” Cox said Tuesday, shortly after voting. “I've made some recommendations on some things they should look for, but it will be up to them ultimately.”

Voting residents are selecting three town selectmen, two 3-year terms and one 2-year term. There are nearly 1,600 registered voters in the rural coastal town.

Cox said her last day on the job is Aug. 12.
