SULLIVAN – Residents in town endorse a ballot question on Monday to purchase land for a future town office public safety building.
Residents voted to allow town selectmen to purchase the old Hastings Farmstead, located next to Family Dollar, at a cost of $105,000. The property has 2 acres of land.
“It might not happen for three or four or five years but it was the community stepping up and saying we need to look ahead to the future and we need to plan for the future,” said Town Manager Rob Eaton.
Residents also voted in Roger Wakefield as a selectman and Andrea St. George Jones to the R.S.U. 24 school board, replacing Robin Wyzykowski and John Guyton, who both chose not to run.
