BANGOR – If you’re one of the many people who have a crush on Maine’s official crustacean, Governor’s Restaurant had a treat for you Tuesday.
All six locations of the restaurant’s locations celebrated Lobster Roll Day by selling fresh Maine lobster rolls for $6.60 in celebration of the 60th anniversary of serving the people of Maine.
Since 2010, governor’s restaurants have held Lobster Roll Day every June and it has become the busiest day of the year — and one that their customers look forward to.
Marketing Director Jason Clay said Governor’s is prepared for a record-setting day.
“We always buy more and more every year to try and make it last as long as we can throughout the night but we always end up selling out sometime during suppertime. We try to gage it every year and get as much as we can to feed as many people as we can,” he said.
Clay said by the end of the day, they plan to have sold 28,000 lobster rolls, with 8,000 being sold at Bangor’s Broadway location alone .
