BRUNSWICK – A California couple is traveling through Maine to encourage Mainers to help shelter animals find their “forever homes.”
Matt Nothelfer and his wife are independent filmmakers sharing their documentary “Flying Fur.” The story is about a private pilot who works to save animals from kill shelters.
The film was shown in Brunswick Sunday morning and it will also be shown in Bucksport on June 27.
The couple hopes to raise awareness about the work that goes into helping shelter animals.
“It’s an important topic. It’s an important thing to do to give these animals forever homes and that’s what our film’s about. We want folks to see the hard work that goes into it and, hopefully, even adopt an animal along the way,” Matt Nothelfer said.
Other rescue groups were also at the screening to show off animals currently up for adoption.
