BANGOR – A Brewer man was sentenced to three years in prison during a hearing Thursday in federal court.
Floyd Chase, 49, pleaded guilty in November of 2018 to a charge of conspiracy to make false statements to a federal firearms dealer.
According to court records, Brewer police seized a handgun, crack and heroin while executing a search warrant at his home.
Records indicate a trace of the gun revealed it had been purchased 10 days earlier at an area firearms dealer.
A later investigation revealed that Chase and at least two other people lied to the dealer about who was actually buying the gun.
Chase will have three years of supervised release after serving his sentence.
