Belfast welcomes new businesses

Written by

BELFAST - The city's downtown area has welcomed eight new businesses in the past couple of months.

City officials said that when businesses leave the area, the spaces don't tend to stay vacant long and that they think businesses are coming to Belfast because people visit year round.

"I think it's important that we don't go overboard with trying to cater to being only for tourists and seasonal residents and I think having a year-round community is worthwhile," Belfast Economic Development Director Thomas Kittredge said.

The businesses range from restaurants to stores and include Perennial Cider and Crumbs Provisions.
