BANGOR – There could be changes coming to the intersection of Park, Somerset, and Center streets.
City Engineer John Theriault said the city hopes to make the intersection less awkward and mark where vehicles are actually supposed to be.
Some of the changes proposed include adding crosswalks and making the travel lanes a little more narrow.
“There’s just a lot of pavement up there with very little delineation of where cars are supposed to be and where pedestrians are supposed to be, so when you get to the intersection, it’s very unclear where cars are supposed to be and where pedestrians are supposed to cross the street,” Theriault said.
Theriault said city officials have thought about making it a round-a-bout but noted that would limit the types of vehicles that could pass through.
