Officials from the State Fire Marshal's Office and Baileyville police officers were looking for James Berube for crimes committed in Washington County that include arson, burglary, and aggravated assault.
The Baileyville Police Department posted on Facebook that they responded to a home invasion around noon on Sunday.
They wrote that when officers responded, they found a woman that had been partially tied up for some time.
Her truck was reported stolen and later spotted by officials Ellsworth.
Ellsworth police officers and deputies from the Hancock County Sheriffs Office pursued the pickup that Berube was driving into Trenton.
Berube then left the vehicle and ran into the woods.
Several police departments, Marine Patrol, the Warden Service, the Fire Marshal's Office, the Forest Service and Maine State Police were involved in the search.
Authorities found Berube and took him into custody.
Sgt. Joel David from the State's Fire Marshal's Office was also able to confirm that Berube was responsible for three fires that happened in Washington County on Sunday morning.
