The town of Guilford gets new town manager

GUILFORD - After 18 years with the same town manager, change is happening in the town

Former town manager Thomas Goulette retired earlier this year, opening the door for the town's new manager, who is already familiar with the area.

David Wilson is a former law enforcement officer, having worked with the Dover Foxcroft Police Department and Piscataquis County Sheriffs Department.

Most recently, Wilson was the town manager in Howland.

His time in Howland saw positive economic growth, and better services for the town...something Wilson says he hopes to be able to continue in Guilford

"It always comes down to how do we make it better, but not pass on those costs or try to ease the burden on those costs to the taxpayers"

Wilson says he looks forward to getting used to the community, and continuing the work of his predecessor while enhancing some of the traditions Goulette had already put into place.
