ORRINGTON – A town employee said Monday’s voter turnout was one of the highest they had seen in years.
It was a tight race but Christopher Robison was re-elected to Orrington’s select board. Robison won the election by just 17 votes.
Last week, some of the people who attended a select board meeting said Robison should be recalled after the firing of Town Manager Joan Gibson.
Heather Harriman and Andrew Hillman were elected to the school board.
Voters also approved a town budget that included an 88 percent increase for the police department. Overall, the budget increased by more than $700,000, which is almost 7 percent more than last year’s.
