BANGOR – Disabled American Veterans were at a Bangor supermarket Thursday collecting money to help Maine’s veterans.
The DAV serves veterans by helping them access benefits and navigate their way through the Veterans Affairs red tape.
Members were taking donations for forget-me-nots, with all of the proceeds going toward assisting area veterans.
“To remember all the veterans and those who’ve served the country. And to remember all the freedom that you have,” said Craig Florey, legislative officer for the DAV’s Department of Maine.
