BELFAST – The Waldo County grand jury has indicted a Belfast man on murder charges.
Police arrested 22-year-old Austin McDevitt on March 15 in connection with the death of Shane Sauer, 26, of Morrill.
According to court documents, McDevitt and Sauer were involved with the same woman.
Police said McDevitt shot Sauer, who was unarmed, multiple times.
A fugitive from Texas who was arrested in Northport also was indicted by the grand jury on Thursday.
Police said James Helms, 45, was wanted by Texas authorities in connection with allegations of sex crimes involving a minor.
The grand jury charged him with possession of sexually explicit materials.
Scott Tedesco, 57, of Unity also was indicted on a charge of possession of sexually explicit materials.
A state police spokesman said authorities found dozens of sexually explicit images of children under the ages of 12 on Tedesco’s computer tablet when they searched his home in February.
