Brick Church raises funds to clothe, feed needy

Written by

BREWER - The Union Street Brick Church in Bangor hosted a fundraiser at Jeff's Catering Sunday as part of its effort to help people in the community who need it.

The church has a section called "The Storehouse" that provides free clothes to the needy.

The church also serves 1,500 meals a month on average and is looking to house Bangor's first outdoor showers to help the homeless.

Funds raised through Sunday's event are going towards those efforts.

"We want to promote the Brick Church so that everyone knows what our mission is, and that mission is that we love everyone right where they are regardless of how bad your situation is," said Storehouse General Manager Laura Cole.

If anyone wants to donate clothes or food, the Brick Church's donation center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
