Multiple engines respond to Old Town fire Featured

OLD TOWN - Multiple police and fire departments responded to a fire in Old Town Friday night.

Old Town fire deputy chief, Chris Baker, said engines responded to a call at 8 p.m. of a reported fire at 779 Stillwater Avenue in Old Town. Baker said the initial report was that two residents were trapped inside the house, but upon arrival both made it out safe. 

 

Baker added they are missing two cats. The fire started in the basement and spread to the first floor. When firefighters entered there was heavy smoke throughout the house and It took several minutes for them to put out the fire according to Baker. 

 

He also added the cause of the fire is still under investigation and the America Red Cross is aiding the residents of the home tonight.
