GOULDSBORO - A Gouldsboro man is facing multiple charges after authorities say he repeatedly rammed his truck into a police cruiser when an officer tried to pull him over.

The encounter was captured on video.

According to a post on the Gouldsboro Police Department's Facebook page, Chief Tyler Dunbar tried to pull over 23-year-old Eric Edwards on Route One in Steuben for allegedly driving with a suspended license.

Instead, authorities say Edwards refused to stop and led police on an eight mile chase through Steuben at various speeds.

At one point in the video, the driver stops his truck, then reverses and rams his vehicle into the cruiser.

Police say Edwards was eventually stopped on Augusta Drive, where authorities used a taser to remove him from the vehicle.

According to the Facebook post, he was arrested and taken to Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital for treatment before being taken to the Hancock County Jail.

Edwards is now facing seven charges, including aggravated reckless conduct, failing to submit to arrest and operating after suspension.
