PITTSFIELD – If you’re a fan of horror comedy films, you might want to clear your Saturday night plans to go to the Pittsfield Community Theater.
Local filmmakers will be showing a double feature of Sleep Eater, and its similarly named sequel – Sleep Eaters.
The idea for the original film came from one of the crew member’s own experience eating while sleeping, and thinking about how in the world of a horror movie, that same concept could include cannibalism.
The people behind the films, Cemetery Theater said the cast and crew members are all from Maine.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Saturday, the show starts at 7 p.m., and after there will be a question and answer session with the crew.
Tickets can be bought at the door. And we’re told there will be free popcorn.
“My original goal was to show the two movies in this kind of setting, like the old fright night, you know, double feature and we have a horror host, Morty Sutter,” said Shane Grant, the owner and director of Cemetery Theater.
This is part of an ongoing effort to draw people to the Pittsfield Community Theater, to keep it up and running after the town government said it might have to close.
