BLUE HILL – Blue Hill residents will be making some choices about their town’s future.
On Friday, a referendum will decide whether the town government should create a town administrator position.
The town administrator would likely work full time, overseeing the tax collector, clerk, and treasurer.
Over the years, select board members have tried to fill those duties, but now Blue Hill Town Selectman Jim Schatz feels the town would be best served by adding a new position.
“As government gets more complicated, as there become more funding sources for things the community needs, you need somebody to orchestrate those resources,” said Schatz.
Selectman Schatz will be stepping down, so voters will also be choosing his successor at tomorrow’s election. The other part of the referendum will be about whether the town should fund certain road repairs.
Voting starts at 10 a.m. and wraps up at 8 p.m.
