Cancer patients need drivers

Written by

BANGOR - For more than 30 years, the American Cancer Society has offered cancer patients free rides to treatment centers.

Volunteers have provided more than 160 Mainers with more than 1,400 rides but now more volunteers are needed to help cancer patients in Greater Bangor.

"We're down to four right now. We could probably use 10 because one of the nice things I find about this particular volunteer job is that we don't require any particular time commitment," Road to Recovery Volunteer Coordinator Lynne Carlisle said.

Anyone interest in helping can find more information by visiting cancer.org and clicking on Road to Recovery.
