Written by

PRESQUE ISLE - State Police Major Crimes Unit and evidence technicians are investigating what they said they are treating as a domestic violence homicide and suicide.

According to Steve McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, Presque Isle Police responded to a call at 728 Reach Road late last night.

He added that the State Police Tactical Team and negotiators were also called.

It was early Sunday morning when law enforcement entered the residence and found two bodies.

McCausland said the victims are an adult male and a child.

In addition to that, he said the bodies were transported to Augusta for autopsies and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

He said more information will be released following the autopsies.
