PRESQUE ISLE – Passenger flights at Presque Isle International Airport were expected to resume Wednesday night.
A spokeswoman for the city of Presque Isle said a United Airlines flight bound for Newark was scheduled to take off from Presque Isle around 10 p.m.
The Federal Aviation Administration grounded passenger flights for more than a week after a plane crashed at the airport on Monday of last week.
Presque Isle Airport spokeswoman Kim Smith said earlier this week that non-passenger flights have been allowed to use the airport since shortly after the crashed plane was removed from the runway.
Last week five people, including the pilot, were injured when a United Airlines jet slid off the runway.
