SULLIVAN – Police say a Sullivan man who led authorities on a chase Monday night is now facing four charges.
Just before 9 p.m. a State Police sergeant attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Maynard Hardison, 30, on the Tunk Lake Road in Sullivan.
Authorities suspected Hardison was driving a stolen vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
Police also believed he was on drugs.
According to authorities, Hardison did not stop, but instead led police on a chase, covering about eight miles at various speeds.
Police say Hardison drove into two separate snowbanks during the pursuit, even striking a police vehicle at one point.
Authorities say he ran from the scene after crashing his car, but was later located inside a vehicle on the Ashville Road.
Hardison has now been charged with aggravated criminal mischief and reckless conduct, among other offenses.
