BANGOR – Customers of the Bangor Water District probably will see an increase in their water bills by the end of the year.
Kathy Moriarty, the water district’s general manager, said cost increases are projected to range from about 84 cents a month to about $1.30 a month.
The change will increase water district revenues by more than $400,000 annually. Moriarty said the new revenue will go toward replacing aging water lines across the city.
The Bangor Water District also provides water service to Eddington, Hampden, Hermon and Orrington as well as to small parts of Clifton and Veazie.
