Traffic stop yields drug charges

Written by

ORONO - A man arrested on drug charges Sunday by Orono police remained at Penobscot County Jail Monday night.

According to a jail official, Darrel Ross, 59, of Old Town was unable to post $10,000 bail.

A spokeswoman for the Penobscot County District Attorney's Office said Ross was charged with aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine and heroin.

Orono police said the charges against Ross resulted from a traffic stop during which a large amount of heroin and meth were seized. Police, however, would not say how much heroin or meth were taken.
