KNOX COUNTY - An elderly Owls Head woman was found dead in her home on Thursday.

Now, the person who was hired to shovel her walkway and driveway in the winter has been charged with murder.

Authorities say 37-year-old Sarah Richards of South Thomaston was arrested Friday afternoon after being questioned at the Knox County Sheriff's Office in Rockland.

The charge is in connection with the death of 83-year-old Helen Carver, who died from blunt force trauma according to the State Medical Examiner's Office.

Richards is being held at the Knox County Jail and is expected to make her first court appearance on Monday afternoon.
