Firefighters were called to the mobile home shortly after 10 a.m.
Authorities said there was heavy fire showing when crews arrived and that the fire flattened the residence in a short amount of time.
Crews from about half a dozen surrounding towns -- including Carmel, Dixmont, Hermon, Hampden and Etna -- helped battle the blaze.
"We started our defense attack. Due to the driveway conditions, the driveway was a little slippery so we had issues getting trucks up here. Once the first engine made it in, it was just defense only," said Lt. Aaron Brown of the Carmel Fire Department.
Authorities said nobody was home at the time and the no injuries have been reported.
According to the homeowner, the family dog was killed in the fire.
The state fire marshal's office has been contacted.
