The Youth Work Experience Program matches individuals ages 16 to 24 with participating businesses.
Officials at EMDC said the program gives young workers hands-on experience that helps build their skills while helping local businesses fill their workforce needs.
Organizers said there are a variety of careers to choose from, ranging from being a janitor to working in accounting.
"It's really a wide range of different professions and things you can get into," said EMDC Communications Coordinator Kristen Harmon.
The program is funded by a federal grant, which allows EMDC to pay the full wage of each worker so employers don't have to worry about the cost.
EMDC is always looking for businesses that want to host workers. Interested employers or participants should call 561-4044 for more information.
