DIXMONT – A burglary suspect was arrested Wednesday night after he crashed his vehicle and fled into the woods, according to police.
State police said they were called to a burglary in progress at a business on Moosehead Trail in Dixmont around 11:50 p.m. Troopers said the suspect forced his way into the business and took a number of items.
Investigators said they were able to track footprints, which led them to Cristhian Zuniga Meza. Police said that Zuniga Meza had fled the scene and crashed his car in a wooded area along Moosehead Trail.
Authorities recovered all of the stolen items. Zuniga Meza was taken to Penobscot County Jail. He now faces five charges, including burglary, theft and operating under the influence.
