David Waltz, 58, of Hampden pleaded guilty to all 15 counts of invasion of privacy stemming from incidents last fall when he secretly recorded 12 hospital employees in bathrooms that could only be accessed by staff.
The plea deal caused some controversy because Waltz will not have to register as a sex offender because the offense took place in a private setting rather than a public setting.
"I think that you heard from the victims today in court. I think mostly many of them felt like there was a significant breach of trust. I don't think really there was any sentence that would restore that," Penobscot County District Attorney Marianne Lynch said.
