Overhead utility wires will be taken down and moved underground as well.
Some landscaping projects also will take place, adding park space and making the entrance to the town more appealing.
"It's long overdue. I think that some improvements of both in the utilities and in the beautification aspect of the town so we're looking forward to it," Town Manager Derlin Lunt said.
Work on the project is scheduled to begin in March and stop before the busy summer season begins. The project will resume in the fall.
