Women's march in Downtown Bangor Featured

Written by

BANGOR - On Saturday, women's marches were held nationwide.

In Bangor, people gathered at West Market Square before marching to the BARN in Brewer.

They held signs that said things like, "trust women" and "make yourself a sanctuary."

At the end of the march, they gathered in the BARN where speakers discussed equality and unity.

Women's march attendee Alahna Roach said, "All marches, all the time are important because it gives a democratic society an opportunity to hear everybody's voices and especially right now, I think that there's a lot of misunderstanding and division. It's an opportunity for people to find where the common ground is."

These marches were held nationwide with the intent to create social change.
