"It's really important to help our friends and neighbors that are still living outside or don't have the means to get warm things," said Andrea Littlefield, the nonprofit's director of development and communications.
The blanket drive runs through Feb. 8 and donations will be handed out in Pickering Square to anyone who needs them.
"We help people regardless of whether or not they're struggling with addiction or alcohol. There's no requirements that they have an ID or proof of income. We want our services to be as accessible as possible," said Timothy McGuire, the alliance's community organizer.
Blankets and sleeping bags can be dropped off at the alliance's office at 304 Hancock St. in Bangor. Cash or gift cards that can be used to buy materials also can be donated.
