Police say a Maine state trooper responded to a dirt turnout on South Bay Road in Franklin for a report of a woman not breathing in August of last year. The woman, 34-year-old Nina Wallace, died.
Over the course of their months-long investigation, police learned that two men furnished and sold fentanyl to Wallace and that the drug contributed to her death.
James Grindel, 54, of Waltham was arrested in late December. He is charged with unlawfully furnishing scheduled drugs.
On Monday, police arrested 44-year-old Richard Drost of Sullivan and charged him with unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs.
Police say both men were friends with the woman who died.
