Brewer looks ahead in 2019

Brewer- The year ahead looks like it could be a big one for Brewer.

According to Director of Economic Development D'arcy Main-Boyington, more than 20 businesses opened during 2018.

She also said that there has been significant interest from developers about space on Brewer's waterfront.

Main-Boyington says the waterfront development could bring a mix of residential and retail spaces.

"I know a lot of folks are worried about a recession, nationwide, and while that's a possibility, a strong possibility, at this point, here in Brewer we aren't expecting anything like that this year," Main-Boyington said.

She said that if a recession were to occur, it likely would not be for another year or two.
