Red Cross, police holding blood drive Featured

BANGOR - Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood.

That's according to the American Red Cross, which is partnering with the Bangor Police Department and a group called Concerns of Police Survivors to hold a blood drive on Tuesday.

"The blood supply is low right now, so every pint we get is going to help. You really have the potential of saving a life just by giving one pint of blood," says Sgt. Wade Betters.

The drive runs from noon until 5 p.m. at the Bangor Police Department. Anyone who donates during the drive will receive a $5 Dunkin gift card by email. Donors can either walk in and give blood or set up an appointment by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.
