STATEWIDE — The early snow brought more than just skiers to the area. Businesses around ski areas in Maine are thriving.
It’s still early in the season but some places are already seeing an uptick in customers.
The Big Squaw Mountain Ski Resort near Greenville has already had 500 skiers this season. It expects to see a lot more and so do local businesses.
“We’d love to have people come up here and try it. Well, the mountain’s starting to come back from a long, sleepy time and it definitely helps the area,” said John Hess, manager at Stress Free Moose Pub & Cafe.
The Big Squaw Mountain Ski Resort brings in around 8,000 visitors each year.
