It's the busiest season of the year for the post office.
While you're buying gifts and stringing lights, postal elves are working around the clock to make your holidays merry and bright.
"Karl Goodkowsky has been a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for more than 20 years.
He told us that during the holiday season, he delivers about 200 packages per day.
Beginning this Saturday, the Bangor Post Office will begin it's extended hours.
Instead of closing at 1 on Saturday's, they'll be open until 3:30.
During the holiday season a quick trip to the post office could take a little longer, but the post office is doing what they can to keep you from waiting too long.
Nate Hartley, a USPS Sales Service Associate told us about a mobile point of sale program that they're doing "We do purchases, stamps, flat rate boxes. Things of that nature, we're also making sure we have enough staffing"
While you're staying warm and toasty, they're staying true to the post office creed, making sure your packages get where they need to.
I asked them how we could make their jobs easier this holiday season--
Hartley told us to "make sure things are taped up, ready to go. If they're going overseas, that customs forms are filled out"
As for Goodkowsky, he says the best way to make his job easier is to "Keep the walkways clean and everything shoveled out, this job is hard enough without having to trudge through that. If everything's well maintained, it makes it a lot easier."
