CHARLOTTE - A Charlotte man was at a Portland hospital Wednesday for treatment of burns he suffered in an early morning mobile home fire.

Charlotte Fire Chief Dana Hatten said  the man was injured while trying to remove burning debris from the mobile home.

The man initially was taken to Calais Regional Hospital but he then was flown by LIfeFlight helicopter to a Portland hospital.

According to the chief, the other occupant of the home escaped uninjured.

An investigator with the state fire marshal's office was sifting through the debris this morning trying to determine how the fire started.
