Husson students celebrate computer science

BANGOR - Husson University students are bending reality to celebrate Computer Science Education Week.

The university's Student Technology Club demonstrated an augmented reality device on Thursday.

Using a Microsoft device, users could see holograms, play video games and more.

AR has become increasingly popular with games such as Pokemon Go but it serves more than just gaming purposes.

"I can see a lot of cool purposes for it, like I saw a video of a heart. It could be useful for medical students, or criminal justice students like myself, in creating simulations, so I feel like it can have a lot of purposes in the future," Husson student Jason Smith said.

Since 2014, there has been an 800 percent increase in alternate reality related jobs.
