Samples were split into categories of water with or without a disinfectant.
Districts from dozens of communities participated but there was only one winner.
The winning sample came from Aroostook Community Action Program Child Care in Caribou.
"I take pride in making sure that they're drinking the best possible product that we can give and that's water," Russell Plourde, ACAP Child Care water operator, said.
This will be ACAP's second time representing Maine at the national taste test in Washington, D.C in February.
