Prosecutors seek to read murdered woman's journal

Written by

BANGOR - Prosecutors argued in a Bangor courtroom Wednesday that they should be allowed to read the spiritual journal of Hampden murder victim Renee Clark.

Clark kept the journal at the urging of a Catholic priest as potential evidence against Clark's accused murderer, her brother-in-law Phillip Clark.

He is accused of killing her last July.

A Bangor judge is being asked to allow prosecutors to read the murdered victim's journal.

The priest claims the journal falls under the shield of religious privilege.

The judge is expected to make a decision within the next several days.

Clark's trial is tentatively scheduled for November of next year.
