Bangor state representative tapped for AG post

AUGUSTA - Democrats in the Maine Legislature have picked a state representative from Bangor to serve as attorney general.

Lawmakers nominated Democrat Aaron Frey to replace Governor-elect Janet Mills on Tuesday night.

 

According to state Democrats, Frey was slated to stand to be elected by the full house and senate in Augusta on Wednesday.

 

Maine Speaker of the House Sara Gideon said there were no declared Republican candidates.
