AUGUSTA – In observance of the National Day of Mourning for President George H.W. Bush, Governor Paul Lepage has ordered all executive branch State of Maine offices to be closed on Wednesday.
Public schools are not impacted by this order.
Lepage released a statement saying, “I encourage our schools to use the national day of mourning as an important opportunity to learn about the life and legacy of president bush.”
The governor also ordered the United States flag and the State of Maine flag be flown at half-staff immediately for 30 days to honor the life and memory of the former president.
