Holiday at the Hill House Featured

Written by

BANGOR - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Bangor Historical Society.

They stared decking the halls today for "Holidays at Hill House."

Local businesses sponsor and decorate different rooms of the house, which was built in 1835, and the public is invited to come through and pick a favorite room.

The Thomas Hill House opens to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays starting December 8th.

Admission is free but donations are appreciated.

Chair of board at the Bangor Historical Society Risteen Bahr said, "Mostly it's to just show the community what wonderful asset this is to the community of Bangor and how important it is to maintain the house."

The winner of the decorating competition gets bragging rights.

This year's theme is "A Christmas Carol" and is sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank.
