They rallied this afternoon outside the Federal Building in opposition to what they called the Trump administration's expansion of offshore drilling.
The rally featured guest speakers and was put on by Oceana, an ocean conservation and advocacy group.
A field organizer with the group said in a state like Maine, where so much of the economy and tourism depends on the coast, offshore drilling could hurt the environment or lead to oil spills.
They're asking Senators King and Collins to continue to oppose off shore drilling when President Trump's next plan comes out.
"It's really inspiring to see so many people out here in the cold, standing up for our oceans and our coastal communities, and the things that are really important to Maine," said Sarah Starman, a field organizer with Oceana.
The group also put together a letter signed by dozens of local businesses, asking elected leaders to protect the Maine coast.
