Ellsworth re-elects city council chair

Written by

ELLSWORTH - The Ellsworth City Council re-elected Marc Blanchette to be their council chair.

At a meeting Wednesday night, councilors unanimously voted Blanchette to be chair for the second year in a row.

He says he wants to focus on Ellsworth's growth and carefully managing it over the next year.

"I'm in awe of the confidence that's been put in me," Blanchette said. "We have had a fantastic year. We've had a lot of accomplishments in Ellsworth and I give all the credit to the staff here at city hall."

Blanchette says next up for Ellsworth is a workshop after Thanksgiving to discuss EMS services, which are going to be housed in their fire department.

Also at Wednesday night's meeting were two newly elected councilors, Heather Grindle and John Phillips.
